Castle Court Zhuzh

Case study
Service Mural Location Belfast City Centre Year 2022
A CastleCourt hoarding painted with “Good things come to those who wait” in black capitals, with “wait” struck through and replaced by “hustle” in red script.

The brief

CastleCourt’s head of marketing got in touch while the shopping centre was undergoing construction, leaving many shop fronts covered by blank hoarding. It needed an artistic touch — something to turn dead construction walls into a reason to linger, rather than a detour for shoppers to walk past.

Our approach

We designed six distinct artworks, each one different, to bring variety and interest across the hoarded fronts. The goal was footfall: giving everyday shoppers more reasons to slow down, look and explore those areas of the centre while work was underway.

One of the six CastleCourt artworks part-finished — the abstract panel complete on the left, a painter working at the far end of the hoarding. A Graffic painter filling in large cream capitals reading “It’s Showtime” on a dark hoarding, guide strings still pinned across the wall. A painter on a step ladder laying sweeping black brush lettering over the finished abstract mural, yellow barriers around the work area.
